Islam Samir Fahmi

Mr. Fahmi is specialized in litigation and consultation matters over 11 years in UAE. He has represented individuals and corporations in numerous industries including commercial, corporate, financial, labor, real estate and construction matters.

Mr. Fahmi also is devoting his practice to counseling clients on a variety of corporate and transactional matters with a particular emphasis on property development, construction, business set up and joint venture matters.

He has represented publicly and privately held UAE and international companies in connection with a wide range of regulatory and transactional issues, including corporate formation and restructuring, licensing corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions.

Furthermore, he is recognized as one of the leading lawyers in labour & employment matters and litigation in the firm. He advises on all aspects of employment and employee benefits law including labour relations, discrimination termination of employment etc. He regularly represents clients in UAE proceedings involving claims of employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, salary violations and breach of fiduciary duty.

Mr. Fahmi has litigated cases on behalf of domestic and foreign corporations, directors and special board committees in a diverse range of areas related to complex financial and business arrangements, including securities cases, joint venture and partnership disputes, business tort and contract matters and alleged breaches of fiduciary duties and a variety of enforcement proceedings. Mr. Fahmi also regularly advises corporations and their officers and directors on these issues in a non-litigation context.

He also practices in the area of insurance coverage, general torts, class actions, product liability and general commercial litigation. His insurance practice includes prosecuting coverage cases, providing counsel to clients with regard to designing insurance coverage strategies, conducting policy review, advising on policy implications resulting from a merger acquisition, and other insurance related issues.

In addition, Mr. Fahmi has extensive experience, including pre-trial and trial courts handling mass tort and complex multijurisdiction tort actions and as lead counsel in tort cases.

Mr. Fahmi also counsels clients in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including financing, lending, lease and sale-lease back transactions. He represents clients in structuring certain documentation for the development of these properties.
